Oklahoma Parental Choice Tax Credit

A refundable income tax credit between $5,000 and $7,500 is allowed for eligible Oklahoma taxpayers who pay qualified educational expenses at accredited private schools, including Wright Christian Academy.

Tax Credit Amounts by Income

Credits are determined based on household Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) from two years prior:

• $7,500 — Family AGI below $75,000
• $7,000 — Family AGI $75,001–$150,000
• $6,500 — Family AGI $150,001–$225,000
• $6,000 — Family AGI $225,001–$250,000
• $5,000 — Family AGI over $250,001

Eligibility

Taxpayers: Biological or adoptive parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, legal guardians, custodians, or persons with legal authority for the student.

Students: Oklahoma residents eligible for pre-K through 12th grade enrollment in public schools; must be age 4 by September 1st of the school year.

Schools: Located in Oklahoma and accredited by the Oklahoma State Board of Education or another accrediting association. WCA qualifies.

Qualifying Expenses

Tuition and fees including enrollment, registration, application fees, textbooks, technology, activity fees, testing, and uniforms (when paid directly to the school).

How to Apply

1. Apply online at oktap.tax.ok.gov.
2. Request an Enrollment Verification Number (EVN) from WCA for each student.
3. Provide parent/guardian AGI from two years prior.
4. Families with AGI under $150,000 receive priority if applying within the first 60 days the application window is open.

Payment Structure

The credit is issued in two installment payments. Checks are sent to the school; parents must appear in person to sign over or collect payment.

Additional Information

• Separate Enrollment Verification Form numbers are required for each student in families with multiple eligible children.
